We're holding a costume party to celebrate Matthew Henson's arrival at the North Pole during the first week of April in 1909. The theme is the Arctic, of course. You can participate in a raffle to benefit DC SCORES by renting one of the Arctic animal headbands.
Join us at the Henson Center (2000 Half St SW). We start at 3:30pm and wind up by 7pm. All kinds of beverages, some music and games, and a little gambling.
Members drink for free. Guests can purchase a one-day membership for $15 that entitles you to adult beverages (beer, stout, hard cider, hard seltzer, etc). Not a drinker? Buy a $5 one-day membership that gives you all the soda you want.
Check in at the door to receive your wristband and show ID.
